Race-day registration
It is recommended that you register well in advance of race day. Registration fees will increase to $38 after August 6.
If the event capacity of 500 athletes has not been reached, registration will be available on the day of the race,
from 6:00AM until 7:00AM. No new registrations will be taken after 7:00AM.
Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Signs will direct you to the registration table.
Check-In
You will have to check in for the Oregon Kids Triathlon on race day to pick up your race packet, T-shirt and goody bag.
Check-in will be held on the morning of the event, beginning at 6:00 am. In order to keep things moving smoothly, we ask
that you check at least 1 hour prior to your child's posted start time. Signs will direct you to the check-in Table.
Body Marking
After checking in, your child should go to the body marking area (signs will direct you). Your child's race number (found in the race
packet) will be marked on his/her leg and arm. These markings will be used to identify your child's race number at the start of the
swim.
Transition Area Preparation
The transition area is located in the parking lot next to the pool. Each pre-registered athlete will have an assigned spot, labeled with
their name and race number. Athletes should have their transition area equipment (i.e., bike, shoes, etc)
set up at least 1/2 hour prior to your assigned start time. Be sure to stay clear of the athletes during the race!
In order to make sure everyone has room in the transition area, each athlete
should use only the minimum amount of space required to place their equipment. See the transition area page
for more information.
Race Start
The race will begin at the pool. Each athlete will be assigned a swim start time, with the first swimmer starting at 7:30am.
Athletes will be called to a staging area
approximately 10-15 minutes prior to their assigned start times. Swimmers will be called in groups by race numbers, not by names (race number
must be marked on the child's leg and arm - see body marking above).
It is the athlete's responsibility to get to the staging area when they are called. Volunteers will assist the athletes
in the staging area, but parents are not allowed in the staging area.
Athletes will be called from the staging area to the swim start and start their swims on 30 second intervals. The athletes will swim their
required number of laps, moving over one lane each lap. At the end of the swim they will walk to the pool exit and
enter the transition area.
Please read all of the instructions, precautions, and policies for this event.
Everyone associated with the Oregon Kids Triathlon is anticipating a wonderful event. We're sure you will agree on race day.
